K2 At Her Home Berth In Weymouth |
We purchased K2 in July 2009. She was launched in April 2005. She is a centre cockpit, sailing cruiser, HR 37 constructed of GRP. She has a long keel with a draft of 1.9m (now 2m!). She has a sloop rig and a 55 HP Yanmar diesel engine. Her length is 11.3m with a beam of 3.55m. Her displacement is now 10 tonnes, we estimate. She has capacity for 340 litres of fuel and 400 litres of water.
After 3 and a half years of cruising in the South West England, Channel Islands and Brittany we have made modifications for life aboard. We have added a gantry with solar panels, wind generator, kedge anchor, liferaft and davit. We have upgraded the chart plotter and added AIS. This will allow you to follow us on marinetraffic.com typing in Kisti Two. Her bottom has been Coppercoated to save the annual antifoul ritual. We have added an electric windlass, extra chain and a new anchor. We have a spare Genoa and a Karver roller reefing system for the cruising chute. There are plenty of other small modifications to make life on board as comfortable and safe as possible. There is still room for friends to join us aboard as there is space in the double berth at the bow, so do keep in touch and try to join us when possible.
